Me and my grateful heart: A Simple yet Unforgettable Week (06-12 August 2018)

I am always a grateful person but for this week, I feel more grateful than the usual.  My heart is just overflowing with gratitude.

I celebrated a couple of milestones this week and some simple things that are close to my heart just happened naturally that made me feel more grateful than the usual.

I am writing this down to "document" this feeling so I can get back to it when I am feeling blue or when I am not in my best element and hopefully, it will paint a smile on my face!

I had long conversations with some of my friends and my family.  I am very grateful that in spite of the typhoon and flood in the Philippines, my family is safe.  I continue to pray for the safety of my country and countrymen.

Thank you Lord for this beautiful week.  As we/I prepare for the start of the work week, please guide us and bless us that we may remain calm and successful.  Thy will be done.

1.  Last Friday, 10/08/2018, I celebrated my 1st month at work since I got back from my medical leave.  It is a continuous process of self-care and self-nurture.  The ambiance at work is not at all toxic but work is demanding.  There are long, intense meetings, documentations, deliverables and deadlines to meet.  But these are all overruled by having supportive team mates.  I continue to be under medication as I combat my anxiety, and in cases that I feel overwhelmed, I take a deep breath, close my eyes and meditate.  As part of my self-care, I continue to have my acupuncture and therapeutic massage sessions.  At home, I regularly ride my stationary bike and do my meditation/Finding my silence.  I continue to buy fresh flowers as they add up to the beauty and tranquility that I need.  I actually included in my regular expense the fresh flowers. Hehehehehe.  I also met up with my an ex colleague, Rocio.  We are each other´s support system as we combat and overcome our struggles with anxiety! We can do it girl!!!

This is me last Friday at work when I celebrated my 1st month after my medical leave. :)

2.  After 12 looooooooonnnnnnngggg days, my son is finally back to our home.  He spent, together with his cousin, sometime in my mother in law´s house.  My mother in law has alwasy been very loving, caring, supportive, generous and affectionate.  She lovingly took care of her grandchildren during these 12 days.  In as much as, my husband and I enjoyed the quietness in our home and being able to do our schedule such as loonnng hours at work, our lives and our home is not the same without our little one.  I picked up my son from my mom-in-law´s place last Saturday. And we were just so clingy. It was obvious how much we missed each other!! Thanks to my mom in law for taking care of the kiddos!! Much love!!!

3.  My husband and I got to spend as much as we want.  We were also able to organize our house after the "bedbugs" invasion which resulted to a hefty expense on our end.  We had to stay in a hotel, pay from our personal pockets the anti pest/fumigation services (as it was not covered by the home insurance), but new mattress for our son as the bedbugs´core area was my son´s bedroom.  Aside from the financial expense (thank you Papa Jesus for all of our financial resources), we were physically but really physically exhausted.  It´s like as if we just moved in again to our house, as we had to pack our stuff and unpack and organize them again plus we have wash almost everything - curtains, linens, blankets, clothes, towels, comforters, etc!  But it is all a thing of the past.  We also bought a new home steamer as a preventive action. On a happier note, I got to unwind and spend sometime with my husband and his closest friends.  They regularly meet every Tuesday evening and I spent an hour with them just to chit chat.

4.  On a lighter note, my comedic relief... jejejeje I put on a photo collage of my korean idols as we do sandals twinning. Hahahah This is really superficial but I already did mention in my previous blog about Korean and Taiwanese dramas why they hold a special place in my heart and why it is a happy thought for me.  Netflix Spain finally has uploaded episodes of the new edition of the Meteor Garden and of course, I finished right away the 1st 2 episodes.  I am patiently waiting for the rest of the episodes. hahahahaha...

5.  My sweetie gave me a beautiful surprise.  He got me a beautiful, cow leather Longchamp backpack.  Lately, I have been quite fixated with backpacks.  I feel more comfortable using them.  Maybe it goes with age.  I am just so thankful and so giddy to receive this light and functional Longchamp backpack.  Thank you sweetie.  I love you with all of me. :)

I do Believe in Magic..

Not my photo.. Lifted from the internet.  Thank you.

Welcome August and thank you July!!!

My gratitude towards July maybe a bit late as I usually write my thank you and welcome month post exactly on the 1st day of the incoming month.  But the start of August has been quite crazy... Nonetheless, better late than sorry!! :) :) :)

Thank you beautiful July... As it is in your month that finally got the clearance of my doctors to go back to work, after being away on medical leave for 1,5 months.  I am still under medication but I am doing my best to adapt to my usual and normal life as possible.  My son completed his summer camp and I had the beautiful privilege to drip him off and pick him up whenever possible.   During the month of July, I also visited Kiko, an old friend, ex-colleague, who now works as a premiere barista in Monkee Koffee.  I also spent a few sessions to learn how to ride the bicycle. Hahahaha I am still a work in progress though.  And my son and I perfected our homemade pancakes!! Delish as always!!!!  I also discovered a new Korean Drama series which I binge watched Its Okay, That´s Love

My back to the office regime was a success, if I may so.. Thank you to the blessings of my Savior, to the unwavering love of my family and support of my colleagues.  It is back to normal - long hours at work, meetings, parallel tasks to be accomplished.. But the important thing is to recognize when I am spreading myself too thinly and in the process, take a deep breath and enjoy the moment, seize the day.

Thank you July for all the beautiful memories.. And to you August.. we may have started you quite busy, as we have had bedbugs issues at home but we are now back to normal.  This August, 5 family members (2 siblings and 3 nephews!!!) in the Philippines are scheduled to celebrate their birthday!! I am obviously far from them, but no distance can separate us nor can stop me from sending my love and greetings to them!!

And although we are in the peak of summer, we are very, but very busy at work.  So this is going to be crazy schedule but again, one day at at time.  Can´t wait for my summer holidays!!!

Have a fun and fabulous August!! Let´s enjoy the summer heat!!!!
